A Vision for CBC

Everyone at Cambridge Biomedical Campus is able to enjoy arts and culture as part of campus life. The expansion of the campus has brought forward the opportunity to commission new public art, as part of new public spaces, as part of new buildings, and within everyone’s daily lives on campus through artist-in-residence projects where artists spend time working with and alongside campus employees, patients and visitors.

As part of the phase 1 campus expansion, a new green space, The Green & The Gardens, was created by internationally renowned British artist, Ryan Gander. Sited between Royal Papworth Hospital and Astra Zeneca it is designed to provide an engaging and relaxing environment for patients, employees and visitors. Across the campus other public sculpture has been created as part of the completion of individual research and clinical buildings.

In 2020/21 three artists-in-residence, Andrea Cockerton, David Blandy, and Hannah Jane Walker are working with everyone on campus. Our Public Art Microsite contains all the information.
