The Campus Cycle Hub is opening on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus on Friday 1 September to provide a full range of cycling services, including bike repair, servicing, accessories, rentals and sales

Announcing the Hub opening, Stuart Hay, acting Director of Estates and Facilities at Cambridge University Hospitals, said it was intended to provide high-quality support services for the established and growing cycle community on the Campus, providing easily accessible cycle repair and servicing on all week-days. “We want all our cyclists to have safe and efficient bikes and we want to encourage more Campus staff to become cyclists – both for commuting and leisure. It’s all part of further developing a healthy and environmentally responsible Campus during a period of rapid expansion.”

The Campus Cycle Hub is managed by Cambridge Electric Transport Ltd in partnership with The Bike Man.

Peter Dawe, Chairman and Co-founder of Cambridge Electric Transport, said that the Hub’s mission is to support and reinforce the strong cycling culture on the Biomedical Campus. “Cambridge is a cycling leader in the UK but we are at just at the beginning of a transport revolution, which will eventually banish all polluting vehicles from our city and replace them with people- and electric-powered cycles and lightweight vehicles that will maximise efficiency, safety and health. This is our long-term commitment, building on the services we will be providing at the Hub.”
