New café causing a Stir on Campus

Stir 1000DD entrance

Stir is open for business

This week a new café has opened on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, offering a range of hot and cold drinks as well as both takeaway and dine-in food options, and will open seven days a week from 8am to 5pm.

The café is the latest from much-loved local independent brand Stir. Located in a beautiful space on the ground floor of the new 1000 Discovery Drive building on Dame Mary Archer Way, a short walk from the main concourse.

Founder Matt Harrison said: “It is important to us that our cafes are part of the communities we join, so whilst each one has the same great quality produce, they also all have a slightly different feel to best serve our customers. That’s why we have spaces where you can relax, but also meet and collaborate with people from across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Who knows, maybe Cambridge’s next world-changing scientific discovery starts with a conversation over one of our coffees!”

There is ample seating inside, featuring the usual cool Stir tables and chairs, but also this time with sofas and armchairs for more relaxing moments and workspaces for anybody needing to work but seeking a change of scene. There is also a large outdoor seating area, which is well placed the catch the sun once the weather improves.

Stir are offering their famous brunch menu and speciality coffee, as well as a full range of delicious products baked fresh every night at their award-winning Stir Bakery. The menu features an extensive rage of healthy eating options and has plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans. There will also be freshly made sandwiches every day if you want to just ‘grab and go’.
