Celebrating Summer on Campus!
A series of summer events on Cambridge Biomedical Campus
It may have taken a while to arrive this year, but summer is finally here on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and we have an exciting series of free events to celebrate the sunshine.
All of our events are completely free and open to everyone, whether you’re a patient, staff or a member of the public, as we aim to bring together our whole community to interact, meet new people or simply make the most of our green spaces.
All the events listed below are held on The Green and The Gardens, in front of the Royal Papworth Hospital and AstraZeneca’s Discovery Centre, behind Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Find it here on Google Maps or here on What3Words.

Campus Summer Picnic
When: 12noon-3pm, 10 July 2024
Where: The Green and The Gardens
Kicking off the summer series is our annual picnic. Join us from noon for food vans, a strolling band, picnic blankets, deckchairs and more. No need to register, just turn up!
Cambridge Wellness Festival
When: 11am-6pm, 10 September 2024
Where: The Green and The Gardens
Prioritise your wellbeing and join us at The Cambridge Wellness Festival, which returns on 10 September after a successful inaugural event last year. We’ve got exciting things planned including stalls, activities, talks and workshops in our large stretch tent. There is no charge for attending and as an added bonus all our activities run throughout the day.
Campus 10k, 5k & Fun Run
When: 9.30am, Sunday 1 September 2024
Lace up your trainers and join us for an incredible event supporting the British Heart Foundation. Sponsored by the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC) and Prologis, this day promises fun, fitness, and fundraising for a fantastic cause.
Taking place on a safe, traffic-free, closed-road 3-lap course on the campus, the Children’s Fun Run will create a fantastic opportunity for parents and spectators to cheer on their little champions and capture those special moments to share with friends and family.
As for the chip-timed 5k & two-lap 10k, get ready to embark on a journey through scenic paths and lively streets, soaking in the energetic atmosphere while making strides toward a healthier heart, all against the backdrop of the vibrant Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
