Public Art at Royal Papworth Hospital

Futurecity delivered Royal Papworth Hospital’s approved Arts Strategy, developed as part of its relocation from Papworth Everard to the heart of Cambridge Biomedical Campus. This included 4 large-scale permanently embedded art commissions within the new hospital.

The Arts Strategy created the ‘The Living Building’ concept, and conceived opportunities for embedding contemporary art throughout the hospital environment from the grand scale of the entrances to the intimate scale of private interview rooms for patients’ families.

The artworks help create a healing environment, supporting the positive wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors.
