New Chair for Cambridge Biomedical Campus Limited

Peter Denton

Peter Denton CBE will be the new Chair of Cambridge Biomedical Campus Limited (CBC Ltd), the non-profit partnership of the largest health, research, life science and education organisations on Cambridge’s biggest employment site, which is also the largest centre of medical research and health science in Europe.

Peter is the former CEO of Homes England and The Hyde Group and has worked in a broad range of strategic leadership roles, amassing 30 years of pan-European experience.

Speaking about his aspirations for the role, Peter commented:

“The Cambridge Biomedical Campus presents a unique opportunity to deliver economic growth and health innovation. But we need to ensure that this happens in a way that keeps the Campus both globally competitive and locally sustainable. It’s also about ensuring that it facilitates the scientific collaboration and partnership which creates opportunities for the next great scientific breakthroughs which will improve health globally.

“This is about building and maintaining a world class place; one of which local people and Cambridge can be proud, and is the best possible place to visit, work and live beside. CBC Ltd can be a strong voice in shaping that.”

The Campus is currently home to Addenbrooke’s, the Rosie and Royal Papworth Hospitals, with the Cambridge Children’s and Cambridge Cancer Research Hospitals due to be completed in the coming years. It also boasts AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art Discovery Centre, Abcam’s global HQ, the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (winner of 12 Nobel Prizes), and the world’s number one rated clinical school, part of the University of Cambridge.
