Forvie Site

The University of Cambridge is currently reviewing options to redevelop it’s Forvie Site, which is located off Robinson Way.
The University shared information about earlyproposals to build a “world class research centre focused on neurosciences and mental health” with councillors at a Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council Joint Development Control Committee (JDCC) meeting in November 2023.
These plans have not progressed further while a wider ongoing strategic review of the University’s requirements across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus is carried out. However, the University is currently bringing forwards plans for a temporary facility, adjacent to the Van Geest Building, to relocate the Molecular Imaging Chemistry Laboratory from the West Forvie Building, within which Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) has been found. Planning application for this should be submitted during Summer 2025.
