Cambridge Comic Jam – a day of drawing, storytelling and making comics
This brand new festival will bring together children, families and comic creators for a day packed with all things comics.
The programme will include
- pre-bookable workshops from talented comic creators
- live drawing
- hands-on comic-making
- book signings
- a comic reading area
- free comics.
All activities and entry are free, but donations of any size are welcome to help keep Cambridge Comic Jam free and cover the costs of artists, activities and materials.
You don’t need to book to attend the festival, simply drop in when you can. Workshop places must be booked in advance.
The event is organised by Russ Daff and Queen Edith’s Community Forum.

Cambridge Comic Jam Workshops
Create Crazy Characters with Beccy Blake | 10:15–11:15am
- Join Chicken Hill creator Beccy Blake for a fun-filled character drawing workshop at the Comic Academy!
Meet Pablo & Splash with Sheena Dempsey | 11:30am–12:30pm
- Meet the creator of Pablo and Splash and draw along with two time-travelling penguins!
Make Comics Like a Pro with Rob Deas | 12:45–1:45pm
- Learn the secrets of creating great comic characters with one of The Phoenix‘s expert comic artists!
Comic Jam with Russ Daff | 2–3pm
- Roll the dice, grab a pen and see where your imagination takes you!
