The Big Screen on the Green: outdoor cinema

The Big Screen on the Green is back!

Summer has arrived and we are bringing together our community to watch a programme of films for all ages and The Wimbledon Tennis Championships on a 3.5×5 metre big screen on the Green at the heart of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus between Monday 29th June and Sunday 12th July.

Funded by Cambridge Biomedical Campus Limited, we’re showing a variety of films for all ages from Thursday to Sunday each week, alongside live Wimbledon coverage. In between Wimbledon and films, we’ll also be sharing short films from across our Campus community, all completely free and open to everyone!

This summer, we’re also adding:

  • Friday 3 and Saturday 4 July: Bar and ice-cream van on site—grab drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks including popcorn. You are still welcome to bring your own.
  • Saturday 4 July: A Comic Art Draw-a-long session with a professional artist, inspired by the film Dogman. Get creative and have fun! Book here

See our full programme below. You can use the links to register in advance, which will help us understand capacity, or just drop by on the day.

Getting to the site and parking

We encourage visitors to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus to consider doing so via public transport, walking or cycling as parking is limited. The Campus is served by both the Trumpington or Babraham Road Park and Ride services, as well as guided and on-road buses.
The new Cambridge South station, directly next to The Green and Gardens, will be open from 29 June – so do consider coming by train!
For those who wish to drive, the closest car park is Car Park 2 or you can use Car Park 1. You will have to pay to use either car park.

People’s Emergency Briefing – on the climate and nature crisis

Sat 4 Jul 2026 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Whilst not part of the Big Screen on the Green programme (and not being screened on Campus), our friends at the nearby Clay Farm Centre in Trumpington have organised a special community screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing, an eye-opening 50-minute film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence to ask “What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?”
