Transport and communications links
Located just 45 minutes by train from the financial markets in London as well as the European Medicines Agency and the MHRA, the Campus enjoys a strategic location on the southern side of the city of Cambridge. The Campus is located 2 miles from central Cambridge; 2 miles from the M11 motorway and 7 minutes from Cambridge railway station where trains take 45 minutes to central London.
For anyone arriving by car, the new Addenbrooke’s Road provides fast and easy access to the Campus from the M11 Motorway. There are 770 parking spaces in the main multi-storey car park and a new multi-storey car park with 1200 spaces opened last year.
Up to 60 buses an hour arrive and depart from the Campus travelling to the railway station, city centre and surrounding villages. The Cambridgeshire Guided Bus operates a regular service to and from the Campus via the railway station (journey time of 8 minutes) and travels north through Cambridge as far as the town of St Ives.
Located 8 minutes from the Campus, Cambridge railway station has recently been extended to accommodate an increase in the number of passengers travelling to and from Cambridge by rail. The frequent non-stop service to London Kings Cross Station takes 45 minutes and services to London Liverpool Street station also operate regularly throughout the day. Local commuter services transport passengers to the surrounding towns and villages with links to the main cities in the north of England and Scotland.
The Campus is located 30 minutes from Stansted Airport and about 90 minutes from Heathrow and Gatwick. Buses operate on a regular basis from Cambridge city centre to all 3 airports. Cambridge Airport is located 10 minutes from the Campus.
